50 Gallon rimless SPS Build
Hey everyone, Well today I started my 50 gallon project and so far the light has been hung and the tank has been set into place. The tank is a 36x18x18 4 sided starfire glass rimless tank. I have some interesting things to overcome in this build like converting a standard 55 gallon stand to accommodate the new tank. Also because of the stand i will be needing to get a custom sump. Here are some pics of the tank, very dirty.
This is my plan for a sump. I need quite a bit of space for the ASM g2 I have. Basically the two ends of the U shape will go around the back support brace of the existing stand and the extra brace I will be adding for the 4 inches hanging off. This is a rough (very rough) sketch of the T shaped support I am going to build to support the back of the tank. It will be made out of 2x4s and will be placed directly behind the stand. The 36" section along the top will be supported by metal L brackets with a bar going through the the L brackets. Any Opinions, comments or recommendations are welcomed, especially when it comes to sump and T support. Also does anyone know a good custom sump builder in the Orlando area?

I currently have my ASM G2 running in my 90 yesterday, along with my other skimmer i have in the 90. Could this hurt my 90 gallon in any way? I figured i could help out my 90 while i set up the 50 and while i am doing that the "break in" period would be shortened on the 50 because it will have already done that in the 90. Is my thinking wrong? or is this an OK thing to do?
