Quick skimmer ?

I recently upgraded to a 92 corner tank. I have a 20 gallon sump underneath with a cpr bak pak skimmer. I recently purchased a coralife super skimmer 65 (I had a 50 that we just moved into the 92). My question is, can I use these 2 skimmers together, or would I be better off selling them and picking up something bigger? If so, what would be recommended for a reasonably priced in sump skimmer?

Sell them, they are poor skimmers of poor skimmate production.

Since you have a sump you should do a insump skimmer that's at least 220 gallons rated. Skimmers should always be bought at double your total water volume to cover overstocked corals and fish.

double the water volume may be a little drastic. There are plenty of successful skimmerless tanks out there and dropping 200-400 dollars on a skimmer can really dent some peoples budget. Bottom line is that you can run two skimmers. I would suggest running the CSS in sump so it can't leak. If you have money to spend there are better out there but a not great skimmer is better than no skimmer. IMO

Thanks for the input. I have the cpr hanging off the sump now and have room in there for the Super Skimmer as well. Maybe I'll do that for the time being and get a better skimmer later on..

Sell both and get a better skimmer. They are junk and not worth messing with.

Check out bubble magus skimmers or octopus skimmers if you're on a budget. Otherwise, deltec skimmers are pretty sweet!

Actually most people reccomend a skimmer that is capable of skimming double the displays water volume as most skimmer companies over rate their products.

I'd go with the SRO 2000. I've loved my Super Reef Octopus 3000 so much since getting rid of my Coralife 125 Skimmer. I went with the 3000 on a similar sized tank as you but when with the 3000 as I'm planning on getting a 180 in the near future. Its a great skimmer and very reliable. The bubble blaster pump is a beast too.
