150 is not much light. I had them in 2 different k's. Only my monti really grew and it was all the way up top. You might get acros to grow but they will have to be up top and it will be at a slow rate, Look at 90% of "growing " and "flourishing" reef tanks, they use 250 minimum, usually 400w. I have 4- 400 watt over a 6' tank.

the ballast is the stock hqi ballast with the coralife aqualight pro fixture...and you know what, I think it could be that or another problem that I am constantly fighting...salt creep. I have no idea why I didn't think of it earlier, but I have a serious problem with that stuff on the glass covers over my light, and have never found a solution to really get them sparkling clean again.

the salt creep can diminish light dramatically. I use the stock ballasts from coralife as well, but mine is the 250W version.

You might try to replace the covers and see what others reccomment for the ballast as a starting point.

FYI - on my 75, I only have a signle 250W MH (coralife fixture w/ pc supps). Here are some shots of my growth:

so does anyone have any ideas on how to properly and effectively remove salt creep from glass
