Well of course it will work!! However i would not do it. I did that in my old tank to get rid of them but there is too much collateral damage. You will likely also kill nearby coralline. I think you would be better off getting something that eats them. I don't have any experience there but i know there are several shrimps and filefish which would clean them up in no time.

injecting with lemon juice works extremely well; you will crack the syringe if you attempt to suck up the boiling water and inject it directly in the tank.

Just got Joe's Juice and it worked great for the few I had. Melted them right down to nothing...

Pepermint shrimp do a great job as well. I found only if the aptasia is small. I had a few in my 120 and after a week all was gone. I got 5 of them from saltwaterfish.com for 24.99. Best investment i have ever made. I got tired of Joes juice and aptasia x once a month. Since these guys aptasia is gone.

Boiling water sucked up into 10ml syringe and injected through an attached needle carefully into mouth of aptasia worked well for me on single aptasia. No significant collateral damage.

i have tried many ways including joes juice and aptasia x along wit lemon juice boiling water and the alk part 1 of b-ionic.here's what i have observed
joes juice -works well but falls off sometime to fast aptasia x -works great 99% of the time lemon juice -works well but seems to spread small offspring boiling water- the same as lemon juice alk b-ionic- 75% of the time and also spreads small offspring imo aptasia x works the best with very little effort ~~~you have to follow the directions with the prepared products and cover the entire mouth and you will find that there are no offspring in the coming months . the "home remedies" all seem the kill the mother but usually there are offspring in the future down water of where it was killed as they didn't kill the spores as the prepared commercially packaged products . has anyone experienced this ? you really have to be honest with your replies as this is what i have found over the years and i really pay attention and document with sharpie on the tank front to see what comes in the future from my experimentation on this subject .

No matter which way i have tried, there has always been offspring. IME its impossible any other way. Just get em before they hurt anything.
