MH over acrylic center brace?
I have a center brace on my 6' tank- can I place a MH directly over it? How close can I come to the acrylic without worrying about damage- it would be a 250DE

I would make sure it is atleast a foot above it. 18 inches would be better.

Mine started to turn yellow -- think sugar turning into caramel -- getting darker and darker the longer it "cooks". However, the type of plexi could make a difference as this was many years ago.
Do you have a fan running across your tank? I think that might help dissipate the heat. |
