AIO Pico Suggestion Poll
Well at some point, probably in august, I'm planning on setting up a small desk top nano. My only requirements are that it's an AIO and smaller than 6g. These are one's that I've found that seem decent. Open to other suggestions too. I'm gonna attach a poll. If you choose other, please say what and post a link if possible. Thanks!
Option 1: http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsCA...crylicaquarium Option 2: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...7&pcatid=10677 Option 3: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...48&pcatid=3848 (also make a 6g) Option 4: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...4&pcatid=15494 Option 5: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...3&pcatid=15493 Or other: Please post what you're thinking as an alternative. |

I chose #2. 5 and 6 are too small in my opinion. And I've owned the JBJ 3g Picotope. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice setup. But maintaining a tank that small takes a lot of attention. So that's why I voted for the 6g Nanocube. I think you would be happier with the extra water volume and the better lighting. Not to mention the slightly increased stocking options. Just my opinion though.

^^That one I definitely thought was the nicest but I want to still have desk space, I guess it's essentially a foot by a foot which still is pretty small.

Ahh. I did not know that. Anyone happen to have a pic of the 6g cube for size reference?

^^ I started a DIY thread asking for help. You have a link for the guide you used? 15 bucks would be perfect!

I choose #1 because I just now recently starting to see them and it seems like a solid built tank. I've heard they are big in china or something.
Would like to see another one setup. The thing with #4 and 5 is they aren't AIO. Thats my $0.02 |

^^ That's true, but they do include everything. I think I like #1 and the cube. The only thing with number one is it's very very small

I would do the #1 for a desk top.
Cheap and pretty much done. It seems that the first thing people do with the "aio" are gut them, throw everything away except the tank, and build from scratch. What is the point of that? |

two lights above + palys, zoos, lps 3 lights, brighter zoos + more demanding LPS and perhaps a monti or low light sps. I'm not sure about 3 lights yet but there's no harm trying a tip chip of a cap or digitata. 2 sexy shrimp or 1 sexy shrimp + one crab, emerald, pom pom, acro or 1 shrimp + goby clown goby or something else microsopic |

Picoaquariums.com - Barracuda
I voted number six and picked this tank. It's got a total of 3.5g, and is a sleeker rimless than the jbj's or an eclipse. It isn't a complete AIO because of no light, but if you look at any other successful pico's out there, hardly anyone is using the stock lighting that it came with because it's usually so inadequate. The guy who makes the tanks also made LED fixtures at one point for them, and i'm sure you could contact him and find more info, or find one online somewhere. the website's also got auto top off's for sale that are a great size for the pico tank. |
