Is XM10000k MH proved not good for SPS ?

I heard that from a guy, I just want to confirm it on RC.

does it contains to much red light that harm the SPS?

I think the XM10k is a pretty popular bulb amongst the SPS crowd for growth - it might not give you spectacular colour but to say it's "not good for SPS" is nothing short of inaccurate.

Before I upgraded to 250 watt, I had used the 175 watt version of the XM 10,000K SE bulb. I had good growth with it, but the color of that bulb wasn't to my liking, I prefer a bluer bulb. But, not everyone likes a bluer bulb, and may love the 10,000K XM.

I switched recently from XM10K to Coralvue Reeflux 12K. Colour on the Reeflux is much nicer but growth was way better under the XM10K. XM10K is a way brighter bulb (higher PAR). What are you switching from? If you move to XM10K from almost any other bulb you will need to bring your photoperiod up gradually.
