CPR bak pak excess bubbles easy fix?

Now I have found that with the bak pak, you can get a box that covers the outlet. Now, this is just a box that contains the bubbles. Can't you just put a piece of pvc or a sponge in the outlet. Instead of paying 30 bucks for a cheap plastic box, is there an easier fix?

I would try a filter sock maybe and someone put that around the discharge or use a sponge filter or something along those lines. but be sure to not clog the discharge spout or it will get to much air and affect your skimmate!

I have the bakpak 2r+ which came with a small net like thing to put over the intake to capture bubbles, you could try something similar

a little pvc would help to extend the length into water no splashing no bubbles, i used a plastic top from a food container and works perfectly.

The bubble trap actually just comes with a sponge to capture the bubbles anyway. The benefit of having the trap to hold the sponge though is that if the sponge gets clogged, the water will overflow the trap into the tank rather than overflowing the skimmer onto your floor. That happened to me once when I had the Bakpak, my floor got pretty wet.
