Actinic light on Coralife HQI/Compact Fluorescents/LED fixture going on and off

the actinic lights continuously turn on and off .. will stay on for 5 minutes shut off for 10..and come back on for 5 mins.. it keeps doing this

what could it be? please help

the ballest is going out. Ypu can take the light apart to look to see what kind of ballest it has, look it up on the computer and order a new one. There not to hard to put in.

hmm interesting - - i thought thats what it was too .... but just wanted to be sure- - you think it could be anything else?

mine was doing that also...i took the bulb out and put it back in and it hasn't done it since....I think there may have been coating on the pins, but not sure...since it was a new fixture and new bulbs, I was hoping it wasn't the bulb or fixture going bad already....so far so good.
