How much temp fluctuation is too much?

With the heat wave we are having, I am noticing that the temp in my tank is ranging from 78 to 81. Is this too much? I am also noticing that ad the temp goes up my ph level readings are going and then they go back up again when the temp drops. Is there any correlation here?

that temp range is fine. as for the pH I think it is due to the warmer the tank the less O2 and the cooler the warer the higher the O2.

Thanks for the replies. I was preparing myself for a chiller. I might cut back a few hrs on the hqi lighting.

If you run a fan while the halides are on you might find it helps keep the temp swing down.
