Plumbing an Eheim Hobby Pump

Has anyone out there hard plumbed an Ehiem 1260, the one with the 16/22mm outlet? I know that converts to 5/8", but I was wondering if there is anything that I need to know before heading out to find the right pvc. Like is there a true union that is going to fit the 1260's outlet or am I going to have to glue it on? I want to hear how someone else has done this. Thanks
Joe

Those pumps have standard pipe thread fittings.

Hey Joe... I hard plumbed a 1262 in my system, so the fitting sizes may be different. I had some trouble finding the exact fittings I needed, so I ended up taking the entire pump and included fittings with me to Home Depot and played with the fittings in the plumbing aisle until I found something that worked.

I ended up using a threaded female attached to the fittings that come with the 1262. The fit was not perfect, so I bulked up the male coming out of the 1262 with a few wraps of teflon tape. Not perfect, but so far it seems to be working fine.

Hope that helps.

That does help, thanks. I'll take the pump fittings with me.

I hard plumbed my 1262, maybe different output size but I used a standard 3/4" MPT to slip fitting. Didn't use any of the fittings that came with the pump.

Yes I did a 1260.

I just took it with me to the store.

I think it was a 3/4 inch male threaded that increased to 1 inch and then I just ran 1 inch the rest of the way.

For once it was something easy.
