New XM design bulb life decrease?

Anyone notice that bulb life has decreased with the new design. I am noticing significant browning once the bulb hits 7 months old. Now I did change my set-up around same time the bulb design changed from old style spider reflectors to lumenbrights too.

So I guess as part 2 to this question, if I like the look of the 400 20K XM, but need a bulb to last more than 7 months, what are my other options? (PFO M59 ballast)
