Do your fish jump into your food containers?
I thaw out quite a bit of fish food in a 2" tupperware container, and then dump it in the tank over a period of about an hour. I need to dip the container into the tank from time to time to fill it back up with water so I can keep pouring all this food out (6-7 cubes per feeding) Everytime it gets anywhere near the water I have these dumb chromis that are jumping into the food container to eat. You would think they were starving! I then have to dump out a little more food to dump out the chromi. It's the funniest and stupidest thing and it happens on a daily basis. Maybe I should try to get a video of the little pigs. Anyone elses fish do silly things during feeding time?

Yes and its incredibly hilarious. Get a video. I used to take care of some scissor tails that would try to get in the plastic container when i filled it up with tank water to thaw the food.

blue greens are so funny with this. Have had more than one person say this happens and they have to "hide" the cup!

Yes, my blue/ green chromis is always at the top of the tank when I am ready to feed. He hasn't jumped into the bowl I use yet, but I don't doubt he could if I left it in place long enough. He's the first one to attack the food when I dump it into the tank too.

I use a shot glass, and if I wanted I could catch my chromis in it. When I set up a coke bottle fish trap to catch a Clarkii clown, guess who would not stay out of the trap long enough to get the clownfish in it.

happened many times to me, sometimes I never see them jump on there, and I end up dumping out dead over heated fish at feeding time from my feeding cup that was sitting up on my eurobrace for a hour or so . It is rather shocking when this happens...

Has happened to me too. Somehow my female clown manages to fit herself into the 1"x1"x2" tupperware I thaw cubes in

This is feeding 7 chromis, 5 redspot cardinals, orange shoulder tang, yellow tang, sailfin tang, midnight blenny, flame angel, longnose butterfly, ocellaris clown, pink spot goby, maroon clown pair, black dogface puffer, bangaii, blue streak cardinal, and one other baby tang that I can't remember the name. I think that's all of em. They are not all in the same tank, but this is the tank with the chromis... |
