What are these?
What are these growing on my rock?
I am new and this is my first saltwater tank. |

Fuzzy kinda, but look like small polyps maybe? How old is the tank?

The tank is about two weeks old... The rock I got from a guy that had it for a long time...

They look like "button polyps." Palythoa sp.

+1 on button palys
They can be both good and a nuisance!! Keep them isolated and away from other rocks and you will be fine They can multiply like weeds and become too much to handle! Take a look at my Neptune City thread and you will see what can happen I'm still working on cutting it back after 1 yr!! It is a great find though! You could let it grow crazy then trade in a piece of it and get $ or use it as your food allowance lol

I have other stuff growing on other rocks I would like to identify! I am amazed with all the life in the tank already just by adding the live rock! |
