I just finished transferring from a 65 to a 75 in the same spot. Was definitely not a one day task for my newbie self. I reused the old sand after siphoning most of it clean. I replaced nearly all my water with new RO/DI water, since the old water was tap. I kept the live rock in a 120qt igloo cooler with a powerhead and kept the fish in a 30 gallon with a couple pieces of live rock with k4. I let the sand settle for 2 days after transferring it from one tank to another, running hang on the back filters from an old tank. Had to clean the filters regularly for those two days. I put everything back in on the 3rd day. I lost no fish and no snails. I have no coral, so mine was fairly easy in that regard.
