Do NOT build anything that holds water with that. There are many examples of seams busting, even on small overflow boxes.

If you are using it to hold baffles in place then it's just fine.

Search this forum in the DIY section, you will find a lot of threads about it.

its just going to be to hold my baffles
so does it have just strength issues or is it not reefsafe?

GE #1 is reef safe, just not strong enough to hold under much pressure. It will work fine for installing baffles.

As stated, it's definitely reef safe, I used it when I glued baffles in my 20g sump.

I just bought some GE Silicone I, it has a dif label than above, but it's 100% silicone I. However, on the application instructions it says to not use it below the water line of an aquarium...

What gives?

maybe you got the "kitchen and bath" instead of the "window and door" version. some have anti-mold agents, so be careful.

But it's silicone I* clear = 100% silicone. It does not say mold resistant. It does say "Window/Door/Attic/Basement"

It seems to be the new label for window & Doors...

they labeled it that way from a lawsuit due to a busted tank quite a long time ago.

its the same stuff as above just with a warning is all.
