Fish identification??
Hi. I purchased a fish from my LFS, and none of them had a clue what this fish was, nor had they ever seen or heard of him before but, he was cool so we bought him. He did great in my tank for 3 months but sadly, died when my pH tanked while I was at work and unable to do anything about it... but that's a different story.. Anyway! I want to find another one but don't know what it is.
LFS had labeled him as "Yellow Casio" but again, no one knew if this was accurate or if the place they buy from just named him that because they weren't sure either... Color wise, he had a bright yellow stripe running horizontally through his eye and stopping at his fins. Also had another yellow horizontal stripe on top of his body. His fins were pink/maroon color and shiny and his top fins actually moved as if he were swimming with those instead of his back fins. His belly was silver and the rest of him (that wasn't yellow) was sometimes silver, sometimes maroon. At night he totally changed and camoflauged himself into splotches of black/silver. Took 2 photos, one of him camoflauged, other one was unfortunately him in a zip lock bag after he had passed away from the low pH. Would greatly appreciate your help with identifying this really neat fish. THANKS!!!!!!!! Steph |

The shape looks kind of like a fang blenny. Maybe a yellow stripe?

maybe pentapodus aureofasciatus-blue whiptail or pentapodus emerryii- double whiptail. google those names and see if it resembles them to you (your pics are a little blurry)
