upgrading the otp-3000 to a bubble blaster pump on a needlewheel octopus skimmer?

Hello,

The OTP-3000 pump on my 2009 (pre-gate valve) nwb 200 (8") needlewheel reef octopus skimmer is no longer working.

I'm thinking about upgrading the pump to one of the bubble blasters (i think the HY-3000 is the best fit).

Has anyone done this? If it's possible, is the HY-3000 bubble blaster the right pump?

It looks like it will work extremely well on your skimmer. Not to mention you have really good customer service with a good warranty on a bubble blaster.

Some of the initial mods done with this pump (Luke) were getting similar air to the BB and a lot more water flow so I suppose it would work.

It does seem a bit weird putting a $200 pump on a $200 skimmer though. If my 3000 ever quits I'm going with a sicce from Luke or Avast. It's a coin flip best alleged air/best combined price.
