Id?

Guy at my neighbors work tore down his tank and was going to throw everything in the ocean. I inherited this but have no idea what it is. Ideas?

It almost looks like an anemone? Third photo was taken with just actinic bulbs on to show how green it glows.

Its about the size of a golf ball. Not very big. This is what made me question whether it was a bta?

Worth mentioning although I direct this at no one in particular, but never release livestock, water, etc back into the ocean. I'm glad this guy donated his stock.

Ricordea. Never release anything back into the ocean once it has been in a tank.

It almost looks like a long tentacle plate coral. But I think that is a mouth in the middle, right? So I would say it looks like a Malu to me, but I would post it in the anemone forum.

Edit: Okay, I was looking at it wrong. Definitely a Ricordea Mushroom

the reason to NEVER release anything into the ocean is simple - whatever is in your tank has been exposed to unknown organisms that may or may not belong in the ecosystem they are being introduced to. Think lionfish in the bahamas.
