High flow closed loop pump alternative to Reeflo?

Hey guys,

I decided long ago to never install a closed loop on another tank after all the problems I had with my Reeflo Dart. I found a killer deal on a 300 gallon starphire Lee Mar. Unfortunately the tank was drilled for a closed loop. The original plan was to plug the holes. Now I'm thinking I might give closed loops another shot. I'd just like to stay away from Reeflo if I can. Super expensive red dragons seem to be the only alternative. Have any other suggestions? Thanks!

I wish I could help - my DART has been running with no problems at all for several years now. Well, there was the one time it sucked up a heater suction cup......Now the intack has a 3" pvc shower drain over it!

on my closes loop, i used a sqeunce pump heads, 3 phase blador motor, and vfd, been is service for 3+ years have not done a thing to it . just the pump that are rated for flow, you do not need a pressure pump for closed loop. any other ? feel free to ask.

In the pond hobby many/most feel performance pro pumps are the best out there.

Not sure how loud they are or any of that stuff but it might be worth a try. I have 1 performance pro 1/3 hp artesian pumps for my pond but they are still sitting in a box so I do not know how loud it is or isn't.

I do not know of any other options w/o noise. Iwaki 40 rlxt might work, could even run 2 of them to get the flow you want.

Laguna pumps are equal to red dragon. Depending on the size. Or even split the closed loop in to two closed loops and use 2 Laguna pumps to keep the desired flow. They are energy efficient so no worries there
