slim "easy" lighting for 10g display fuge?
I have a 40b, with 30g sump and have just plumbed a 10g tank to the sump as a display fuge. It sits lower than my DT, but just above (and outside the stand) of the sump. It is fed by a T off my return pump. I plan to have different algaes growing in this fuge. This fuge is also home to a Neogonodactylus oerstedii (mantis shrimp).
Ive used the HD spiral bulbs for some time to light chaeto and it works well, but I need something more slim to fit in a small canopy Ill build for the 10g. What lighting can I use? Can I just use one of the HD 18" flourescent lights? is one bulb better than another? Again I just want something simple and slim, the mantis doesnt need bright lights, and I know I need a lower Kelvin rating to get the greenish/yellow tint for the algae. Thanks!!
