Toadstool peeling/ shedding / dying Help!!

I recently purchased a small toadstool from LiveAquaria it has been doin very well till today. The TS came attached to some live rock which it was attacted to, till today morning, It broke off from the base of the stem and at the tip where the polyps come out. Its peeling and i can see something yellow underneath it. What should i do? i will try to put a picture up as soon as i can

Put up a picture. Toadstools do shed at times, but that doesn't sound like what's going on here.

Cutting a leather to remove a rotten spot is ok. Run carbon in your filter when you do, because wounded leathers 'spit' angry chemicals that will irritate everything. Ok to lift it out of the water to 'operate' on it.

As a possible cause of this, check your water parameters. if your alkalinity is off, it can annoy leathers and other softies.

Good parameters are in my sig. If you need further water stability help, ask.
