lion fish way to big
hello all, i just wanted to share a pic with you guys (ty Spearboard) about the massive problem we have here on the east coast of florida. this here is a lion fish shot while spearfishing out of ponce inlet in florida. these fish are a huge problem here and are destroying the reefs here because they eat all the small game fish and nothing eats them. so thus being said if you dont want your S/W fish any more give it to your LFS, friend or destroy it.

Large Amber Jack will eat them, but they are here to stay. There are reports of thousands of them being seen in deeper water of 200ft +...

when we went scuba diving in cancun 2 months ago, we saw probably 20 lionfish in about 45 minutes. The dive master said they usually kill them when they see them but theres too many to even mess with it anymore. These lionfish are going to take over the world eventually.....

I saw a news report that restaurants in NYC have lionfish on the menu.
There are so many along the Eastern seaboard that people are eating them. They are supposedly very tasty and their poison is benign after they have been dead for an hour or so.
