Issues with PC light fixture
Quick question on my Corallife PC Light fixture (48", 4 X 65 w)
I went to clean my light fixture of salt on the cover and stuff. and discovered that about 1inch think bars of salt had formed inside the cover. (betweent he bulbs and cover) . The light works, but, I am unable to get the cover to slide out. I washed it down with vinegar and that worked great to get the salt off the acrylic or plastic cover, but, I am unable to get the cover to slide out to remove the salt. I believe this is a pretty high risk to have that much salt in with the bulbs. The groves the cover slides in are inside. I tried to force it but, ended up breaking a part of the cover off one of the ends. It was close to the end so, I think it should be sheltered enough from any salt spray, or if I can get it off, I'll just buy a new cover Any suggestions on getting it off without breaking it a part? Or do I just have to resolve myself to just breaking the cover up once I have a new cover? I plan on getting getting a new T5 Tek Elite Light in the next 3 months or so, (When the bulbs need replacing on my PC light I'll upgrade). So, just wondering if anyone has any easy solutions for breaking apart "salt spray glue" that seems to be holding my acrylic or plastic shield in place? |

RO+DI water can be used - obviously unplug the light and use water to try to get the salt to dissolve. Since mixing with salt is going to make the water rather corrosive, try do it in the cover-down position. Keep it unplugged of course, and don't fire it back up until totally dry.
