Exclamation Quick Chiller Question

I have a relatively new chiller and of course it is out of warranty. For some reason it does not cool the water down at all. It turns on and I hear the fan running but nothing else. Who would be the best trade to take this to for repair?.......AC guy, appliance such as refrigerator or what? Thanks

Does it have flow going through it? They do get clogged from various sources. If the compressor is cycling on and off, you probably have a refridgerant (sp?) leak. If the flow is good and the compressor is not running, could be thermostat, capacitor, or bad compressor. If the flow is good and the compressor is running, it could just be to small of a unit for your application. A/C or HVAC guys should be able to service it.

When all mechanical parts appear to be working, the first thing I would check is the pressure of the refrigerant. That is most likely your issue.

Obviously, make sure it's clean with good airflow, but again I would highly suspect a leak.

Thanks for the replies. The flow is good no issues there. The unit has only been running 4 or five months but is a couple years old. I only use it in the summer so it is practically brand new. It sounds like the compressor is running and the cooling fan is turning on just no temp change. Last time I used it it would drop my 150 to 75 with no issues at all as it is a 1/2 horse power. Thanks for the suggestions, my neighbor is an ac repairman maybe he can quickly look at it. One last thing I have refilled the refrigerant in my car is it the same thing and process? Thanks again!

Probably not the same refrigerant. You will need a set of guages to measure pressure. Your neighbor should be able to diagnose.
