Bulkhead Size Help

What size bulkheads/drain lines do I need for a 375 Gallon DT? I will be using the BeanAnimal style drains. The tank currently has three 3/4" pvc in it. Will this be enough?

This all depends on the flow. 3/4" will likely be too small, but it would be easy enough to test with fresh water and see. Beananimal's description is for a tank that will flow 2,000 GPH with 1" bulkheads connected to 1.5" piping.

Thanks,

OK I will admit plumbing is not an area I know much about.

Is 2000 GPH plenty for a 375Gal Reef Tank sump system? I will be using internal pumps for most of my flow.

Also I decided to get the calipers out and measure the hole size and existing bulkhead. The ID is 1.3" of the bulkhead it's self. That fits a peice of PVC with an ID of 1.05" Thing is the fitting I used to measure is a 45* SCH 40 that has 3/4" printed on it. I think that means a 3/4" pipe will slide into this fitting? And I actually have three 1" bulkheads?

Also is the beananimal style going to work with the bulkhead holes at the bottom of the tank? Any links to pictures or builds doing it this way?

I think you could add pipe to get the intakes up to the surface of the tank, then use 90 degree elbows to finish that off.

Are you going to use a single fuge/sump, how complex is your filtration going to be?

The tank will start with filtration in the cabinet. I am planning to convert my existing 85 gal DT and 40 gal sump into the sump/refugium.

Build thread is here http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=1871854

I have 20" of overflow btw. Also there is 4 1/8" inside the overflow box back to front. Would I run the pipes to the desired water level and then try and squeeze the fittings inside the box to get the turn downs? Also would I need to run all three capped fittings on the outside of the tank back up above the waterline?
