Overflow and return

I am planning on getting a HOB Overflow, CPR cs90 which is 600gph. How do I know which return pump to get? I'm confused as to how to balance the input and output of water.

I have that overflow in storage that I used a mag drive 7 for flow and at 3 feet it was 500 gph. For 600 gph you would want to stay at a slower rate and it depends on length of the return on which pump to get. check out marine depot mag drive section for the chart. Are you going to get to aqua lifter pump with that overflow?

Yeah I'm getting the aqualifter pump for it. I'm just thinking, isn't it hard to get input water to sump and ouput back to tank exact? If it wasn't exact there would be an overflow right?

Not with that overflow. The outflow of the return pump will be the actual flow as the water will drain down to the sump. If you do get the aqua lift make sure that you get the pre filter for it. I had problems with food getting suck in the pump? You will see what I'm talk in about when you it step it up. Have you checked out glass-holes.com? That is another option for a overflow with a lot less stress for a flood.
