Bet you won't believe this
Short version of the story:
I had a 65 gallon reef running for maybe a month or two. Broke it down, sold livestock, filled up a tubberware container with water from tank and dumped the live rock in it (intended to sale live rock). Started getting ready for college, forgot about the rock, left it outside on the back porch. (3 months later) getting ready to set up another tank, head back home to get my what used to be live rock. dumped the water out and found my old emerald crab alive and well. He stayed in the Tupperware container through hot summer temps, cold night temps, rain and no WC or food for 3 months. He had maybe 4-5 gallons of water. |

I'm thinking:
With all the die off on the rock, it remained cycled and got rid of any ammonia. I assume one crab does not need much oxygen? |
