I just lost a fish and I don't know why.
I just found my royal gramma dead. I've only had him for a few weeks, but just this morning he looked fine and was eating like a pig. There are no signs of injury.
My other fish (and inverts and corals) all look fine. Water tests: Ammonia: undetectable Nitrate: undetectable Alk: 8.5 dkh Calcium: 400 pH: 8.3 Phosphates: undetectable What could've happened? |

The sad part of this hobby is that sometimes things just die for no discernible reason. As long as everything else is doing fine, I wouldn't stress too much about it. Now, if you see other things going downhill, then you can start the investigation.

I just want to be sure I am not overlooking something. Thanks for the feedback, everyone.
Nothing suspect, I don't think. The other fish are a flame angel, an oscellaris, and a midas blenny. Inverts are cleaner shrimp, redtip hermits, snails. Corals are zoas, acans, euphyllia, favia, brains. Quote:
