Soooo to fix the problem, I added a filter sock to each of my drains in the sump. Adding LR did not break up the bubbles as they float right over them. I guess if you have the LR stick out the water, that may be a solution.

I added plastic meshing between the refugium and return to prevent anything from getting into the return section.

Ya bud i have the pretty much the SAME setup as you although mine drains into the one section with my skimmer then i have the baffles then the return section as seen in the pics above. I have the sock on there, but no LR in the sump. I was thinking about putting some in the return section but i dont think it will resolve anything

I feel like the ISSUE is i need to downgrade my return pump...

the mag 9 is at about 50% and pulses bubbles like its out of water / the sump is low and its NOT. could that be because it wants to run more water through and im not allowing it?
