135 gallon set up question

I am starting up a 135 gallon reef tank with the dimensions of 72" long, 18" deep, and 24' high. I plan on drilling holes for plumbing but I am unsure on what size holes I should drill and how many. The tank will be viewable from both long sides so I want to have the overflow either on one short end or both short ends. Any suggestions?

I would suggest on 1" drains x3 (one as emegency for herbie drains) at one end, and 3/4" returns X2 on the other end. This will require 1 3/4" holes for the drains, and 1 1/2" holes for the return. You'll end up having a short 18" C2C on one side for the drains if you are going herbie/bienimal.

Does anyone have a suggestion for the overflow rate on a 135 gallon? I am also wondering if anyone knows of a good but affordable protein skimmer?

If I were you I would target around 800-1000 gallons per hour.

If going the drilled route (Which I'd recommend)....I'd go to gl*******s.com

If you decide to go to an overflow box I'd go with a U-tube design such as the following:
