Pods in main tank before fish?
I was at my LFS and was going to buy some pods for my main fish tank (110) and the guy said I did not need any that if I had LR, copepods were already in my tank and would soon take over.
I have seen some but nothing overwhelming - my tank is going into its 7th week. I plan to get a Mandarin eventually, so I was wondering if it's worth getting my pods going now or is he right? I do have a fuge with Chaeto that came with pods. I know they could breed now without being eaten, but if they will be wiped out anyway or the ones I already have are enough, I can spend my money on something else.

i would just wait, the pods will take some time to build up their numbers. with the mandy it is...imo...at least a 6 month wait for a mandy. you have a 110 gallon and it will take some time. the more you wait and let the pods really take off the better chance of living a great life. like i said its just my 2 cents

I know this is a harder animal to keep, so waiting it is. Actually, waiting should be anyone's mantra when dealing with a saltwater setup.
