Quarantine/Hospital Tank in Garage??
After reading all of the threads about quarantining new livestock, I'm going to set up a separate smaller tank. I have a 120 gallon tank, so I feel a 30 gallon tank would be good for the extra tank. I live in Miami and the temp now is about 75 at night and 80-85 in the daytime. Can I set this up in the garage (in the dark) with just sand and live rock until it cycles? I have a large Wet-Dry filter I bought for the 120 gallon DT, but I couldn't get it inside the cabinet that the main tank sits on and I don't have room for that filter inside the house. I was going to use that filter for the smaller tank. If I need a light in the garage for the smaller tank, can I use a regular halogen bulb light or desk lamp until I purchase some fish?

Lots of equipment left over from the 140 gallon tank teardown. Oct 21st was a sad day. Wife said I would have to get a new wife to get a new tank. I'm sure gonna miss the wife. Current Tank Info: No tank, no fish, no coral :( |

Yes you can keep it in the garage as long as there wont be temp problems. You can also light it with anything if there isnt going to be corals.
