Pistol shrimp missing?
I bought a pistol shrimp and pink spotted goby a couple of days ago. The pistol was digging under a rock and my serpent star creaped over to where he was digging around lights out time. The next morning I didn't see the pistol anywhere. Did the starfish eat him or is he maybe hiding like he was in the fish store?

It is probably hiding. I thought mine died when I did not see it for 2 weeks but a month or so later I saw it again.

They hide all the time. You should hear the occasional clicking from it. I have one that I only see when I feed. It does constantly make new caves and moves alot.

I didn't see mine for months when I added him. Although I still heard his clicking on occasion. He's out with his goby all the time now..

I want to get a pistol shrimp. Does it have to have a crushed coral sand bed or will regular sand be ok? I just have the regular fine sand now.

Thanks this eases my mind. How long should it take for him and the goby to find each other?
I just have regular sand myself. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk |

Mine has gone into hiding recently, and now today I found my watchman goby hiding in the back corner looking like he is about to die. I still hear the clicking, so I know the pistol is still around, just wonder what happened to my watchman that I have had for 4 months or so.
