please help with cycling

Ok so I added 15kg of live rock to day and have left it in the tank with my canister filter running I have been told not to run my protein skimmer for a couple weeks is this right? Also I was meant to receive my 2 hydor power heads 2 day before the live rock came but the powerheads got caught in the post will the live rock be ok with just the canister filter for 4 days till my powerheads arrive . Also how do I start off the cycle? Please help really worried about the live rock with out powerheads. Help would be great . Thanks for hearing me out :?

If the rock was "live" you have started your cycle. Do not worry about not having powerheads. Now take a deep breath.. You are starting just fine. Watch your Amo, nit's and let it ride. Personally I would wait 2 months before adding CUC but that was my tank. No reason to rush. The tank will cycle in about 2-3 weeks but the 2 month thing for me was to let it stablize. Do some water changes after a month. Also the canister, clean it weekly after a month. Good Luck

Run the skimmer. Be patient.
