i have a wierd problem

I have had 2 snails die one on friday one on saturday. I found this out because my hermit crabs were eating them. So the first thing i did was test my water everything tested out fine. Today i saw one of my hermies pick at my button polyps, and now one of them won't open. this behavior is getting quite destructive i heard to feed them all i need to do is over feed my fish once a week which i do is there anything else i should be giving them or doing? I have a 29g biocube hqi i have 10 herms and now 8 snails fish wise i have a cinnamon clown and a damsel in the tank

not weird. hermit crabs eat snails and coral, they are opportunistic.

could be they're hungry but they also kill them and take their shells.

the bio cubes are pretty strong systems but i wouldnt push it. i found that sinking pellet are the best for feeding hermit crabs. you also want to know what type of hermits you have because some are not really reef safe. the most common are blue legs and scarlets or red legs. feeding once a day is good and once every other day is not a bad too. just enough of the fish to eat with in 30 seconds. remember the hermit are there to clean so dont worry if some if some food hit the ground
