Noisy Vortech ---try readjusting your spacer to fix it.

I think I've seen it posted before, but I just tried it myself and want to emphasize it for others:

My Vortech 40 was super loud and I checked the spacer (as others have advised) and, sure enough, it was set for 1/2". My tank is 3/8", so I readjusted it to the proper spacing and VIOLA!

Hope this helps a few poor souls!

Not me. Mine's 1/2", set at 1/2" and noisy. Not impressed with it at all.

mine is starting to quite down. I have mine set at the thickest glass setting with the spacer, but the funny thing is my wet side after 2 days has made a half turn and i have to reset it. I would give it a 7 out of 10.

you also need to do fine tuning to align it perfectly with the motor. I was bummed with mine for the first 2 weeks, I had messed with it to quiet it down, then I got really mad with the noise and tinkered with it until I got it perfect. I didn't mess with the spacer, just the alignment with the motor. Hope this helps
