Have a SWC 250A on my 240 SPS reef. Great great great skimmer. Had an XP2000 cone on my last tank and it was great as well, but a bit too small for this set-up now. A friend has the SWC 250 with 2 Sicce pumps and while it is still a nice skimmer I think the Askoll pump is worth the extra money no question. Much higher bubble density and less startability problems. The Askoll is almost dead silent as well. I set the level once in the beginning, clean the cup ever few days, and forget about it.

The Sicce pumps did have start up issues with the mesh mods. They work great with the newer pinwheels that different manu's are making for them now. As far as watts and size go, a Sicce is very hard to beat when measuring how much air its pulling and its efficiency. IMO, SWC builds the best skimmer for the money out there and its why I own one, well also because the guy and "filtration" company I bought it from offers the best service in the business. I have used a 160 cone with the Attman pump on a QT tank and it worked very well. The new larger cones they are coming out with are very similar to the 160 cone only larger and they are coming with Askoll pumps which is what everyone wants.
