What brand of Bio Pellets is the best?
Been reading some of the threads on pellet use and was thinking of giving it a try. Just wondering what brand is the best or most popular? Also do you still run GFO with them?

I only ever hear great things about BRS www.bulkreefsupply.com
They recommend using just the pellets if you are introducing it to an already established system and then waiting for your regiment to be well established before using GFO so that way you can evaluate if you even need it. However, they say on new tanks doing both before adding fish and corals and finding that balance together at the same time will have no adverse effects. I honestly wish solid carbon dosing was around when my last tank was up. I never had any nitrate or algae problems, but it would have encouraged me to get one more fish and not worry about feeding too much (never more than all the fish could eat, but I still like to keep them well fed) if I had that as a peace of mind. Vodka and the like has shown great results and with solid media dosing you get long term ease of use and stability. I'm eager to continue see this area expand. Best of luck trying this out! |
