These lights look amazing!
I was wondering though if you could post up some pictures or a video to show the difference between the Blue LEDs and Royal Blue LEDs.
A picture with Royal Blue at 100% with the rest zero'd out, another one with Blue at 100% and the rest zero'd out, and a third one with White at 100% with the rest at zero.

The blue lights are on the same rail of current. So you get the 1 white bulb on a switch so to speak and the 2 blues on the other.

I have a 120g 24x48x24d tank w/center brace.I trying to decided how many units to get(2 or 4).
I was originally thinking of mounting two sideways hoping to get full coverage without any spotlighting and blowing my whole budget.
I can raise these units a maximum of 18" which will be in a canopy.
I'm hoping someone else has a similar set-up.

Also thinking of getting these lights on a 120g 24x24x48 with plastic center brace - planning to put 4 in a canopy (oak) - will order a custom canopy - issue is, how high to have the canopy - standard is around 9", but could increase that. Currently have 2 x 400 Ushio 6500k and 4 x 4" actinic VHO, so I think I probably need 4 modules. Any comments/recommendations appreciated. This is a reef with predominantly acro.

I just bought two units for a new build with the same tank dimensions as you. 48x24x24 Seems like a lot of people are buying too many units. A common theme is everyone running 50%-75% brightness or much LESS. Why not go with fewer units and crank the intensity? Seems like it would be much easier to get fewer units and add later if needed.
I have the luxury of hanging the lights as high or low as I want and still be concealed.

Here are some pics of mine, its the sol white version. Actually wasnt called that when I got them, was one of the first sets of the 2nd gen. They have been on my tank for a year now.

This pics is 100%w and 100%b exposure turned down on my camera phone so its not all washed out. I use the 8 set points to gradually ramp up to 100/100 at 12 noon until 2 and then down to 0/1.

Here are some examples of a few of the corals.

These are not the first gen, they are the sol white, they just changed the name about half way through the year. First gen was in a black and grey module and did not use the cree 3w XPG and XPE leds. Mine also have all 40deg optics, the "sol" comes with 70 optics on the ends to spread the light a little better.

I bleached a lot of coral when I first got these because no one had done any PAR testing on them yet. Acclimated slowly enough most acros do good in the highest light sections, I have found a few that dont exactly enjoy the highest par sections and I just move them to a lower spot.

No making fun of my tank lol.
First of all thanks so much for all your vids. They in part sold me on the lights. I ordered mine going on a month ago and they still won't ship until 1st week of March. Secondly the lens actually look very close to the water have you had any splash, salt or moisture damage. Also is your tank 48"? I only got 3 modules and now it looks like I need 4. What do you think? Basically what are your general observations or issues if any now that you have had the lights up for 6 months?

I am going with 2x Sol Super Blues on my new 90g. They are going on my standard 90g tank with the center brace. The choice is 2 or 4 ($1200 vs ~$2300). My LFS sells them, but it is about $400 more for 2. These things put off serious light. They said 2 are more than enough when mounted parallel to the tank. There may be a shadow or dark spot somewhere, but that is not unnatural. They said it would be overkill to have 4 to start. If I need to add 2 more, that can be done down the road. The other option to more evenly spread the light is to add a set of 70* optics. Get one set and split them between the two modules (most likely the middle 4 pucks on each module).

Updates? How are everyone's systems doing?

Considering 2x Super Blue or 2x Ecotech Marine Radion XR30w on a 30x30x25 SPS cube.

Love mine, had it a few weeks now. Went from T5 to AI Sol Blue. No burning corals, no problems so far and love the controller. I am at 41% intensity of all three bulbs and started at 20%.
