Shrinking chalice

Help ! When I bought my chalice about 3 months ago It was the size of a Quarter now its the size of a nickle . Its Ive moved it around in my tank but no changes its under 175 w mh 11/7/2010 PH 8.19 /nitrates 0 ppm/Phosphates 0.0 ppm calcium460ppm KH/Alk 6.6/2.35 salinity 1.025 temp 77°F light is on about 9 hour a day.

Is the flesh coming off or are you saying it has just shrunk/deflated. Not much to defalte on a chalice since not much flesh compared to acans, etc.

Your alk is low. Maybe reconfirm this number with another test kit? How are other corals in the tank? Is the chalice directly under the halide? Flow should not be direct and on the lower end. Any other corals nearby that could be potentially stinging it?

Got a before and after pic?

I agree your alk is low. Post some pics because it should not shrink since it has a calcium skeleton you should see tissue recession not the chalice shrinking. If it has lost size something has to be nibbling on the sides.
