red slime

i had a problem last week with tiny bubbles everywhere now what is left is some red looking slime on rocks and sand. does that go away or do i need to vacum it out thanks for all help last week my anenome has come back to life everything looks good but that slime your advice would be appreciated

You need to vacuum it up. It will not go away by itself. Its called Red Slime Algae. Your probably gonna need to do water changes as well to get rid of it.

It's a phase. Let me point you to my blog (the blue number under my avatar), which has a past post on algaes of every sort, and cyanobacteria (half algae-half animal, I kid thee not) and how to deal with it. First thing is to be sure sunlight isn't getting to your tank. Secondly, it responds to light deprivation. You can kill it by turning your lights out, but that could affect your newly settled nem, so you might just want to moderate feeding, shorten your light cycle, and check to be sure light from a window isn't hitting the tank at some part of the day. It's not serious, just a pest, and everything is pristine and undamaged underneath even a thick blanket of the stuff. Most tanks get it seasonally, especially as sunlight moves to a new window.

Salinity 1.024-6; alkalinity 8.3-9.3 on KH scale; calcium 420; magnesium 1300, temp 78-80, nitrate .2. Ammonia 0. No filters: lps tank. Alk and cal won't rise if mg is low.

Current Tank Info: 105g AquaVim wedge, yellow tang, sailfin blenny,royal gramma, ocellaris clown pair, yellow watchman, 100 microceriths, 25 tiny hermits, a 4" conch, 1" nassarius, recovering from 2 year hiatus with daily water change of 10%.
