Neutrally buoyant food? & Selcon expiration date?
Is there any pellet or flake food that is neutrally buoyant? Seems like my clowns don't like picking from the top, or off the tank floor. But if its falling, they'll go for it. But this creates a lot of waste....
I was hoping there would be something out there that was rather cheap for a daily staple, that was neutrally buoyant and float in the water column, so they could better eat it all. My fish seem to respond really well to live brine. I know everyone says its completely worthless nutritionally. So I usually feed the brine shrimp spirulina and selcon for a few hours before I feed them to my fish. If I do this consistently, would that make brine shrimp a reasonable staple food? And does Selcon ever go bad? I can't find an expiration date on it. Should I keep it in the fridge?

New Life Spectrum Thera-A pellets are a fairly slower sinking pellets. Slower than my Formula One Pellets.
I wouldn't rely on brine shrimp, even enriched with Selcon, as a staple. An occasional snack is fine but not a daily meal. It's just so nutrionally lacking. Have you tried thawed PE mysis or cyclop-eeze? I keep my Selcon in the fridge. I know I've seen the expiration issue addressed here before, but can't remember what the responses were.

My clowns behave the same way as yours. I just soak whichever food I'm using in a small dixie cup before I throw it in. I'll do this 7 or 8 times so I don't end up overfeeding. Small amounts each time.
