MP10's Placement
I have a 50 gallon cube, 24 x 24 x 20, and two MP10's. Want peoples opinions, experience, thoughts, ideas, etc., on placement location, mode settings. They will be synced with each other. Don't want them working against one another or fighting the overflow that located back center. It's an SPS dominate tank, so what are my best options for the best chaotic flow, or reef like movement?

On my 70 gallon 36x18 by 24 tall I put mine high on opposite sides of the tank. The pumps are in anti-sync, long pulse mode, maxiumum time span (1 minute).
What this does is get a good rotating flow going from pump across the top, down and undertow back along the sand bed, then up and back into the pump. Then the flow changes direction every minute. This allows for very efficient water movement, but still gives me a healthy alternating current flow. The pumps never fight each other that way. My favorite article on water flow: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2006/11/aafeature Last edited by rivoth; 12/08/2010 at 01:44 PM. Reason: Added article reference |

Thanks for the input. That's the kind of flow I was hoping to achieve in my tank.
Great article too!
