Tunze Nano Wave Box in 40 br
I am thinking about putting a Tunze Nano wave box in my 40 br (36x18x16)
but i am wondering if it will be too much for the tank. any thoughts? btw i plan to upgrade to a 75 or 90 in the next two years |

I just built a DIY nano wavebox in my overflow of my new 40 br. It works good. I do recommend that you have your overflow in the center of the back wall though as the way mine is the oveflow reduces the wave a bit. Here is a vid of it in action. This is a 1" wave. I actually have to tune mine to use a double wave due to the short length of the tank.

my tank has two overflows each 9" from each side of the tank

It will be noisy everytime the water goes into the overflows. With a wave the best is to have a center overflow.
It might be too much but that also depends on your arrangement, how high the overflows are, how big do you want your wave to be, etc. With a tank that small I would look for other options. |
