Quick plumbing question
Im setting up a 210g and have a gen-x 1190 gph pump that says it supports 22ft head. I was hoping to use it to plumb both returns. Does it have enough flow. Thanks

Need some info first. Such as: Hom many feet of return line do you have (vertical and horizontal), how many 90's, unions, ball valves etc.? It may support 22' of head but what is the flow at that head height. What do you want your flow to be? What size of return line are you running? Are you feeding anything else off the return such as a reactor or manifold?
RC has a great head loss calculator on the main page. |

You should have at least two unions (either true unions or standard.) If not true unions, you will need ball valves to isolate the water from the pumps so you can take the return pump off line to do maintenance. With those added in you are already at 20' of head loss. Look up and see what the gph is at 22' head loss. My guess is it is going to be low. You may want to bump up a size and run a bleeder off to the sump if you need to dial it down some to match your drain(s?).
