Red face Reef Brites over an 80gal

Hey all,

Just wondering how many LEDs might be recommended for a mixed reef. Some SPS, potentially a clam or two, but definitely not SPS dominant. Tank dimensions are 48 x 18 x 24. Was considering getting 3-4 reef brite LEDs, but can likely only get the 36" strips as they will probably not fit inside the canopy inlet at 48".

I would say 4, if not 5 or 6.

Anyone have red ones setup? If so do they add pleasing aestetics?

If I had the choice between 3 - 48" in the rectangular portion of the bowed canopy or 4 - 36" which would span more of the width into the bow, which would be better?

I would go 4-36" and just keep SPS to the center, everything else can fill in the outside.

Great, thanks. I was looking to modify the canopy to get 48s in and figured if 3x48" = 72LED and 4x36"= 72LED things might be equal, but perhaps the 4 had a better width spread which might be more important as long as I center SPS as you asid rather than spread everything out and only in the back, lol.
