Hikers on LR

I got some LR today and at the LFS the guy was showing me this snail that was on the underside of the rock. I bought a little and while putting it in my tank I was looking for that snail. I fould him and after a closer look I found lots of other things as well. There were these little things around 1mm long and very small that were crawling all over the rock. Also, there was a slightly larger one that was a different color. Then, I found 3-4 very small snails. I was just wondering where I could read up about hikers. Is there a website that people go to for identification of whatever comes in on LR? Or do most people say its not harmful and leave it at that.
