Seachem stability and tank cycling

Ok so I'm setting up a 180 with live sand dry Marco rock and 90 gallons of water from my established current reef tank. I'm also going to plumb it right into my established 55g sump. How long do you think I'll need to wait for that dry rock to become live? Once the water cycles can I add coral and fish even though the rocks not live?

I've done alot of research on seachems product Stability. I'm not positive what exactly it's used for. Anyone have good luck with this product speeding up the process of using dry rock? Any other feedback on this product would be good. Thanks!

I wouldn't use the Seachem, but I don't believe anything like that ever really helps. Just get a few pieces of rubble from your tank and move it to the new one. Maybe pick up a couple fresh pieces from a friend or the LFS to replace things that may be depleated in your old rock. Your rock will energize itself pretty quick, but I'd wait at least 6 weeks.

Not telling you to use it to cycle your tank. But yes it does help. It will start the bacteria cycle that will help change ammonia to trite to trate, however there is some concern that it isn't really the type of bacteria you want long term. If that is true, you would still want to give the tank time to colonize the correct bacteria for the long term. I use it in my QT and it helps greatly, but I wouldn't trust it soley in a 180. Patience there would be your best friend.
