If you have a big tank consider buying a rodi unit because its cheaper and you dont have to carry jugs from the store all the time. Distilled is okay just check it with a tds meter just in case.

RO/DI and distilled water are essentially the same thing. The goal is pure H20 without impuritues. Distilled water accomplishes this through boiling, and RO/DI accomplishes this through filtration. With an RO/DI unit you will save money in the long run, save time by not having to go to the store, and you are also in better control of the final product.

It's definitely worth it in the long run to buy your own RO/DI unit. I'm buying RO water at Wal-Mart @ 78 cents a gallon, and I go through 15-20 gallons a month. After a year the unit will pay for itself.
